Duties will include, but are not limited to:When property arrives at the receiving location, cargo must be verified, off-loaded, cargo inspected, special materiel identified and segregated (once segregated the physical materiel and documentation will be worked together), in- checked in transportation systems, materiel inspected, processed in materiel management system of record and moved to appropriate holding locations.Process all incoming property within 24 hours.Establish local controls to ensure all deliveries, including direct delivery to using organizations, are accounted for and documented properly.In-check cargo for overages, shortages and damages and complete all documentation required by directives in accordance with AFI 24-203, Chapter 3 and DTR, Part II or other discrepancies on the carrier's freight bills and verify that the carrier has provided special services and equipment annotated on the bill of lading. Annotate date and time of receipt on the transportation documents for inbound freight shipments and have the carrier representative acknowledge any annotations by signing the carrier delivery receipt and consignee copy. Take necessary action to correct discrepancies or file a claim against the carrier if appropriate .Assist all authorized personnel/organizations in the preparation of all customs documents in a courteous and professional manner (to include NATO personnel). They will establish and maintain a host nation customs clearance program for processing and shipping DoD cargo in accordance with the DoD 4500.9-R, Part II.Ensure DoD-sponsored cargo is free of the spread of agricultural pests and foreign debris. This includes freight movement not only across national borders, but any movement that has the potential to introduce invasive species to a new area. Ensure that the cargo section provides the government with a means to monitor all movements made outside of the DoD transportation infrastructure in real time. Place Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags on all shipments IAW DoD RFID policy and the DTR, Part II.Build pallets; chain, strop and net cargo as required.
