1. Responsible Directly to Tool Room Supervisor for:

·  Quality and quantity of product

·  Completion of all assigned tasks 

·  Tools and equipment

·  Adherence to all Company policies

2. Safety:

·  Perform all work according to Company safety policies, recognized industry standards, and follow at all times what is known to be safe practices

3. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Perform operations common to the toolmaker trade

·  Make machine and tool adjustments and recondition tools as required.

·  Be familiar with heat treating and hardening of metals.

·  Must develop specifications from general descriptions make drawing or sketches of tool or parts to be made.

·  Set up and operate all tool room machinery, such as grinders, mills, drills, lathes, etc.

·  Construct precision parts for replacement on machines.

·  Make minor repairs to machines as instructed by supervisor. Do preventative maintenance as per operator manual.

·  Plan and construct intricate tools, fixtures, and gauges to extremely close tolerances.

4. Maintain Good Housekeeping:

·  Clean work area at close of shift and during shift when necessary 

·  Place equipment in proper place at close of shift or completion of task 

·  Keep equipment clean for purpose of appearance, safety and operating efficiency
