What you’ll achieve working within a team of top notch thermal engineers you'll be delivering word-class product designs that delight our customers. You'll develop innovative designs within the Core HW engineering that delivers thermal and acoustical solutions for our server and storage products.
As a Thermal Engineer, you will be responsible for product design within the Core HW engineering that delivers thermal and acoustical solutions for our server and storage products. The role ideates and iterates on design to meet or exceed reliability, power efficiency, system performance, and cost requirements. Design responsibilities include both system and component level solutions. Assists in early concept feasibility studies and evaluations. Engages with other functional teams to coordinate thermal solutions for the various server components.
You will:
The role will include working with suppliers to design, develop and qualify air and liquid cooling solution(s). Basic project management skills will be used to track and report progress and status.
This role will collaborate within a multifunctional team of mechanical, electrical, computer, acoustical, CFD and software engineers. This collaboration will require balancing competing design requirements.

Essential Requirements
Experience with electronic cooling solutions, such as liquid cooling, heat sinks, and fans.
Experience defining test plans and performing thermal experimentation.
Desirable Requirements
A minimum of a master’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) with a focus in thermal sciences
A strong fundamental understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid flow
Experience with various temperature, pressure and fluid flow measurement technique
Ability to run thermal simulations in CFD tools like Flotherm or Icepack
Clear communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively through the use of collaboration tools, email, MS PowerPoint, and verbal communications
