To work within a team to ensure that any IT system changes implemented for all clients, scheme members and their dependants are in line with service level agreements and in accordance with legislation, policy conditions, business rules and procedures and within the regulatory framework.

Key responsibilities

  • To work towards overall goals of the team in identifying and completing testing tasks and achieving excellent customer service in line with procedural and Service Level requirements ·
  • To provide optimum levels of customer service to clients in terms of quality cost and time.
  • Identify and report risks and breaches immediately to line management and/or the Operational Risk & Compliance Department.
  • Regularly review the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and controls and make suggestions to continually enhance service delivery, improve processes and reduce potential complaints and business risks.
  • Adhere to Quality Management Systems and comply with pensions and FCA regulations and initiatives, for example, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
  • To support and assist the management team where required in all aspects of service delivery and business support for example, ad hoc projects, auditing, etc.
  • To support less experienced members in the team.

Key tasks

  • To ensure that test scenarios and scripts are prepared in a structured way, prioritised to reflect business or technical priorities and are approved by appropriate stakeholders. Scope is to cover test cycle contents and regression packs.
  • To create allocated test scripts, monitor test execution and ensure results are recorded. To co-ordinate re-testing of defects and issues either through ‘at desk’ re-tests by business test representatives, or via walkthroughs with third-party providers.
  • To prepare and maintain relevant test documentation, including test scripts, activity schedules, narrative and written reports, and visual progress charts.
  • To execute tests and generate status reports for the Test and project Managers
  • To work within set key performance Indicators and quality standards and to make every effort to achieve these.
  • To provide excellent customer service to all clients, members and third parties in line with service level agreements
  • To complete all tasks using current work procedures
  • To participate in and promote good team communication.
  • To build and maintain personal and performance development records
  • Identify complaints at the earliest opportunity and escalate as appropriate.
  • A flexible approach to work at all times and adaptable to varying demands and workloads with a commitment to ensure tasks are completed to deadline

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

MS Excel

  • Describe the difference between the following chart types and their application: column, stacked column, line, pie, doughnut
  • Demonstrate the ability to use filters, sorting, pivot tables (rows, columns, grouping, filters and totalling), lookups, control totals, IF and nested IF statements and formatting of cells to specific guidelines
  • Can manipulate data with exceptional data accuracy
  • Can parse and import data/text files and use data validation
  • System Testing and/or User Acceptance Testing or pensions experience looking to move into a testing role
  • Test planning (scheduling, analysis, coverage, scripting)
  • Test execution (including defect management)
  • Time Management
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and quality management
  • Problem solving
  • Organisational skills
  • Client Relationship skills
