Territory Account Manager

The Territory Account Manager is a hybrid role of a Regional Account Manager & Urban focus District Manager.  They are accountable for delivering business segment objectives and share of customer volume by delivering sales strategic objectives at the lowest possible cost. They are also responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive customer business plans and long-term strategies to deliver annual operating plan within trade investment plan while maximizing ROI.

What are we looking for?

  • Must live within the territory boundaries of San Francisco, CA
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Business, Marketing, Veterinary Science or other relevant area of study or 10+ years of B2B sales experience.
  • Ability to travel 25-40% required
  • 4+ Years’ experience in Sales, Marketing, Category Management for Fast Moving Consumer Good Industries preferred
  • Like experience in a customer focused, account management, revenue driven environment required
  • Fluent understanding of sales forecasting, customer JBP, and trade management
  • Minimum of 2 years business to business sales with a successful track record
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI skills
  • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management System

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Full responsibility for the P&L and implementation of the customer’s activity plan, including sales & marketing programs, and presentation on retailer sites.
  • Manages the trade promotion budget at assigned customers in harmony with Mars policies and procedures and within assigned budgets.
  • Develops comprehensive customer business plans to deliver all business segment objectives
  • Consolidating and reporting on retail feedback on executional issues and opportunities.
  • Provides their customer with category information and makes recommendations for Category growth.​
  • Responsible for maintaining effective and harmonious cross functional relationships with other sales management, field sales, marketing, supply, and finance associates whose support is essential for success.
  • Cultivates effective multi-level and multi-functional customer relationships with existing and new customers, building customer equity and driving improved customer satisfaction, and business performance.
  • ​Identify new business opportunities and gain new distribution in target customers to achieve profitable sales growth objectives.
  • Execute all Retail/OMNI strategies outlined for the business segment.
  • Achievement oriented, with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple clients in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Develop an understanding of customer needs by expanding basic product knowledge to enhance services.  Assist Retail outlets in growing their business by identifying potential upsell opportunities.
  • Ability to translate knowledge of our products, categories, and customer data into business opportunities.
  • Prioritize key retail accounts within a territory and develop an effective routing and call frequency strategy.
  • Complete CRM call reports, expense reports and presentations in a timely and accurate manner.
