Division Overview:

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. With a large printable surface area and a wide range of sizes, shapes and decorating options, our aluminum cans are the perfect packaging format to create compelling brand presence where it counts. Location:

Crown is coming to Martinsville, Virginia!    Our industry is growing and so is Crown.   We have just broken ground on a new manufacturing facility that will employ 132 employees and be fully operational in September 2022 .  This state-of-the-art facility will manufacture specialty beverage cans for some of the top consumer product companies.  In starting up the Martinsville facility, we will need a HR Coordinator to support the project as we launch the new plant.  This assignment is expected to last 12-18 months and could possibly turn into a full time position in the future.

Position Overview:

The Coordinator’s role will be to support the HR function through the recruiting, on-boarding of the new employees and other related administrative functions for the Plant. 

Duties And Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Coordinators' responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:   

  • Talent Acquisition - sourcing, screening, background screening,reference checks, interviewing scheduling, pre-employment physicals, and job fairs
  • Assist with preparing and conducting New Hire Orientation
  • Ensure compliance with government filings (I-9, Everify) and postings 
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for Trainees
  • Coordinate logistics for employee training events
  • Maintenance of employee files and records
  • Assist in the coordination of employee communications and meetings to keep employees informed
  • Performs other job-related or Plant duties as required or assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in Human Resources
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
  • Experience in talent acquisition
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Some travel may be required

Preferred Requirements

  • Associates degree or administrative equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  
  • The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

 

Working Conditions

  • Generally works in an office setting but will be required to perform some job duties inside a plant environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.  
  • The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
  • The noise level is frequently loud.
