POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Technical Writer is responsible for gathering, authoring and publishing clear, concise and high-quality content for a variety of audiences in support of multiple software platforms. This position will be responsible for managing large-scale projects, working closely with multiple business areas and related groups, business owners and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other types of documents utilizing various tools and methodologies, as requested.  In addition, this position will perform quality assurance on content developed by other writers to ensure adherence to set styles and standards and provide technical support for our knowledge management system.   

Scope of Job

• Use multiple tools and methodologies to produce user content for a variety of audiences.
• Participate in a dynamic authoring environment designed around quality, continuous  improvement and fast-paced delivery.
• Collaborate across functional business areas on large-scale projects in the development of end-user documentation that accurately and effectively reflects the system/process.
• Provide quality assurance support for the document development process.
• Conduct usability test studies to gather end-user feedback.
• Lead technical support for publishing, archiving, creating new KM tool components.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.

Key Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of technical writing experience preferred.
• Excellent written, organizational  and analytical skills.
• Advanced knowledge of writing and editing best practices and use of style guides.
• Advanced knowledge of Information Mapping a plus.
• Advanced interviewing and listening skills to gather necessary content from multiple resources.
• Team player, able to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment and willing to contribute when help is needed outside of primary job responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills, curiosity and attention to detail are required.
• Ability to learn quickly, solve problems and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Organized and flexible, with the ability to prioritize and work under time constraints and meet project deadlines.
• Creative thinker with innovative spirit. Ability to look for new and better ways to develop content/perform tasks. Effectively execute on new methods, when appropriate.
• Experience with conducting usability testing a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Visio, Word.
• Proficient in developing online help and other forms of user assistance using MadCap Flare or other related content authoring tools required.
• Proficient in developing online help and other forms of user assistance using MadCap Flare, Robohelp or other content authoring tools required.
• Basic understanding of HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript required.
• Project management experience required.

This role is WAH/Flex which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
