The Opportunity

• As a member of the global Revenue Accounting and Operations (RAO) team, the Revenue Accounting Analyst will report directly to the Manager, Revenue Accounting and determine technical accounting conclusions for new or custom product offerings, go-to-market motions, key partnerships, OEM and large revenue generating arrangements, new system implementations, as well as assist with 10-Q and 10-K revenue disclosures. This role and the Technical Revenue Accounting team will also serve as the “hub” for key RAO initiatives, providing reporting and coordination across RAO functions.
• This individual will join an organization that includes Revenue Accounting, Revenue Assurance, Professional Services Operations, Royalty Operations, and Revenue Systems and Reporting functions. This role will collaborate with these functions, and other teams throughout the Company including Product Teams, Pricing Operations, External and SEC reporting, Legal, FP&A, IT, Business Unit leaders, and others to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.

What you'll Do

Includes the following responsibilities (not complete and other duties may also be assigned):

Be a key resource/subject matter authority for revenue recognition conclusions for the Revenue Accounting and Operations organization

Identify and propose appropriate action related to revenue-generating transactions and write related technical memos within defined policies and authoritative literature

Assist with implementation of timely reporting and process improvements based upon industry trends, authoritative literature and business objectives

Be aware of relevant US GAAP and SEC developments to ensure revenue recognition policies and procedures align with developments

Work closely with IT development team to improve system processes and reporting outputs

Work with internal and external auditors to discuss accounting approaches and conclusions

Maintain SOX controls and assist in the automation of those controls

Support acquisition integration

Help drive key annual SOX initiatives

Communicate clearly and tailor communications based on the audience

What you need to succeed

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year university
• Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in Accounting / Finance, including experience with software and service arrangements
• Good knowledge of technical application of ASC606 and all other current authoritative literature related to revenue recognition is required
• Strong understanding of external reporting requirements related to revenue
• CPA or equivalent preferred
• Strong organization skills and self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Demonstrated experience in interacting with all levels of management
• Strong verbal and written communication skills – ability to clearly communicate complicated accounting topics for multiple audiences
• Strong skills with MS Office software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
