Job Summary:

Disney Streaming’s Media Engineering team is seeking a Technical Project Manager for the Quality, Targeting, and Experiences (QTE) team. As a Technical Project Manager within the QTE team, you will be responsible for partnering with the development team to build and maintain the services that define the streaming experience for a viewer, including their CDN decisioning. You will partner closely with Product Management and engineering to translate product and technical ideas into engineering requirements, while collaborating with all impacted teams and external partners to ensure a successful launch of the product or feature.

Quality, Targeting, and Experiences (QTE) is an engineering team ensuring excellence in Playback Quality of Service within the media streaming experience. Our team is composed of software engineers, researchers, product managers, data analysts and technical program managers. We deliver analyses of media performance and metrics, thoughtfully researched solutions and flexible services, models and data feedback loops in the critical path of media selection and playback. Our work directly influences the selection, stability and quality of media experience delivered to customers for our products and champions the value of quality of experience, telemetry collection and analysis in media selection criteria.

Responsibilities:

• Own execution for upcoming features and products, driving roadmap, specifications, and delivery
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks, provide visibility to management, anticipate and make trade-offs balancing the business needs versus constraints
• Scope projects into manageable chunks that enable us to quickly and efficiently release iterative products
• Lead team Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming), and provide Agile guidance for areas and ways to improve
• Collaborate with the engineering team and program managers to evolve team roadmap to align with the overall domain roadmap, identifying necessary investments and dependencies to support execution and delivery.
• Act as main communication liaison with disparate internal stakeholders and external partners across a variety of timezones and locales
• Continue to improve our program management process, communication protocols, and operational procedures related to effective, on-time and to-scope software delivery

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field of software development and project management
• 2+ years of Technical Project Management experience, background in backend services a plus
• Experience in shipping multiple feature or products simultaneously
• Ability to dive into technical details, understanding and providing input on overall technical designs
• Ability to breakdown a large and complex project into distinct and incremental deliverables
• Experience in Agile software development
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with a clear attention to detail
