The Amazon Global FP&A Technology Team is looking for a results-oriented, driven Technical Program Manager who can help us create the next generation of distributed, scalable financial systems. We need someone to design, and oversee implementation of technical solutions that facilitates global financial planning.

A Technical Program Manager (TPM) at Amazon works on real world problems on a global scale, owns their systems end to end and influences the direction of our technology. You can expect to design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming. You will investigate solutions to complex problems, design solutions and work closely with the technical team to implement them. You will play a leadership role by working closely with business teams, technical teams and operational teams alike. You'll need to work well cross functionally, have strong interpersonal and written communication skills, be able to operate successfully both strategically and tactically, and have a strong bias for action. You will learn all about how to design, implement and test highly scalable solutions using AWS cloud platform and its many products, in challenging agile projects, working with best in class professionals.

Key Responsibilities

· Decompose large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then drive the delivery in a successful and timely manner
· Define and document the conceptual solution then participate in the architecture design review and sign-off with technical stakeholder teams
· Drive program schedules from design to launch, communicate to stakeholders and senior leaders
· Gain a deep technical understanding of our products and drive the technical direction of the team, working with front and back end technologies
· Partner with business and technical delivery teams to develop, maintain, and execute against a capabilities roadmap across customer teams
· Thrive and succeed in an innovative environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or conflicting priorities
· Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
· Lead interactions with cross functional teams consisting of Data Engineers, Application Developers, and executive leadership

This position can be based in any of the following locations: Bangalore/Delhi

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
· 2+ years of technical program management experience
· Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
· Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithm design and complexity analysis
· Design and implement system modifications
· Proficiency with RDBMS technology fundamentals, data modelling, SQL and Query optimization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s degree or advanced technical degree
· Demonstrate ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
· Experience managing software development efforts in, distributed systems and/or developing large scale web development technologies
· Experience with AWS Technologies (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3) and service-oriented architecture
· Ability to work independently, as part of a global team, with limited general supervision
· Demonstrate ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
· Experience mentoring software engineers and influencing best practices within your team
· Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills
