Job Description

Job summary
AWS Textract is looking for a passionate, innovative, and results oriented Technical Program Manager. Amazon Textract (https://aws.amazon.com/textract) is an AWS service that provides deep learning based OCR and document analysis. This team owns the full service stack and solves challenging problems around scaling, efficiency, and reliability to make sure our customers are able to perform OCR and document analysis on cloud. We are constantly adding new capabilities to the service. The goal is to be the bleeding edge of a highly scalable technology that can analyze corpus of documents and provide rich analytics.

As the right candidate, you will possess a strong program management background, have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, and have a well-rounded technical background in current web technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

This position within the Amazon AI team presents a unique and rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor within a fast growing business and help shape the technology, the product, and the business.
