Your role in the team

You'll work closely with a squad of Engineers, Developers and Subject Matter Experts, you'll have access to some serious expertise and have ample opportunity to learn and develop your skills as a Product Owner.

You'll gather business requirements, and express them in well written user stories. You'll make sure stories are development ready by collecting supporting documentation, user flows, wireframes and prototypes. You'll co-write acceptance criteria with members of the delivery team, and maintain an actionable, prioritised backlog.

As Product owner you'll attend and contribute to scrum ritualsand represent the scrum team externally- proactively communicating progress, decisions, achievements against KPIs, impediments and risks to the Senior Product Owner. You'll review, approve or reject outputs from sprint deliveries against the acceptance criteria and work with development teams to address questions and concerns during sprints. You'll work with the delivery team to ensure high quality software releases to our customers.

Skills Needed

We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who will have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for developing our Sports product and vision and adding real value to our business and customer experience. If you're always striving to go one better, have a natural curiosity and love to ask questions to understand and learn, this role offers an opportunity for you to develop a deep understanding and real expertise of product ownership.

Having had exposure to working in an Agile environment or an understanding of agile principles, perhaps having worked as part of a Scrum Team, you will have a track record of decisiveness in the face of many good choices. You'll have used analytics, market research and user test results to answer priority calls and will be able to state the product vision from a customer's point of view·

You'll be able to demonstrate that you have organised teams to develop solutions together and can work effectively and inclusively with a range of people.You'll be used to negotiating with and managing stakeholders to positively influence outcomes and get the best results.This will be achieved with strong communication skills and the confidence to be courageous, challenge the status quo and make the right decisions for our business even when its a tough call!

We want you to have the technical skills and experience to produce detailed user stories, analyses & understand data and information quickly. You'll understand prioritisation and validation techniques and be able to demonstrate a history of implementing backlog changes. You'll be able to use insights and knowledge in a structured way to identify options, make recommendations, robust decisions and resolve problems.Can alternate between the detail and the big picture.

Exceptionally organised, you can alternate between the detail and the big picture - knowing when to focus on documenting, planning and prioritising and when to take a step back to ensure we are achieving our vision and goals as part of the wider business.

Ideally, you'll have a recognised Scrum Qualification and practical experience working in a Scrum environment or product team. You may have a track record as an outstanding Business Analyst, Scrum Master or Project Manager or experience working with product owners in a large scale business.
