About the Team
 
The Netpulse Team is responsible for roadmap, architecture, feed design (ETL), build and Support of a VMO2 Big Data cluster.
 
The platform enables processing and analysing the performance of various key platforms and delivering valuable business insights to monitor and improve the VMO2 network for the benefit of our customers.

About the role
 
Ingesting more than 10TB of data per day into the VMO2 cluster, it is crucial to ensure this data is in a format that can help our business to provide better user experience and make better investment decisions as well as providing insight to our stakeholders.
Responsible for architecting and technical delivery of the ETL processes.
Working with technical designers and supporting suppliers to implement data engineering/analytics pipelines as well as engaging with teams across the business including MVNOs to design turnkey solutions.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Architecting and delivery of analytics and advanced analytics use cases and provide insight to business
• Design and deliver feeds into and out of cluster
• Own and streamline Netpulse front door process, support new requirements, engage with stakeholders
• Support contractors in Netpulse to deliver our objectives
• Support and enhance VMO2 MVNO services using customer network data in Netpulse
• Technically support architecting cluster expansion and Cloud migration project
• Advise and oversee operational support team when needed
• Working closely with CDC and security team to ensure compliance and following industry best practices

 
What We Need from You

Essential Skills

• Credible and effective communicator and influencer, able to work with stakeholder to agree, prioritise and drive forward a wide range of requirements
• Experienced. 5+ years of data engineering/analysis ideally in a mobile communication sector.
• Strong understanding of mobile technologies and related architecture
• Experienced in SQL and PySpark or Scala Spark
• Experience in Big Data technologies (e.g., like Hadoop, Spark, Hive), data modelling and ETL development.
• Essential to have strong UNIX experience
• Experience with stream-processing systems, such as Kafka, NiFi/StreamSets
• Strong Data visualisation skills, preferably Tableau

Desirable skills

• Experience with GCP environment 
• Solution architecture certification
