Role Purpose

 

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside leading industry experts as part of a dynamic team working on the next-generation corporate systems and tooling.  
 

  • The individual is an experienced Technical Consultant who will work closely with Designers and Solution Architects to contribute to strategy, projects and business deliverables that involve technical subject matter expertise, technical methodologies and require understanding of complex systems. 
  • The role provides technical and analytical subject matter expertise for given domain. Absorbing complex technical information and communicating effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical audiences, whilst understanding the implications of new technologies for both IT and the customer
  • The right candidate will also have a firm understanding of the software development life cycle, working knowledge of product delivery methodologies, and the implementation and continuous improvement brought about by the principles of DevSecOps


Key Accountabilities and Deliverables

 

  • Provide technical leadership in projects and representing IT in cross-functional teams 
  • Ensure ‘life cycling’ of incumbent platforms including contribution to annual  budgeting process
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of IT strategy, acting as the lead / SME for given  IT domain
  • Analyze technical / specialist issues, working through multiple sources of potentially conflicting information to understand and assess problems
  • Conduct research and analysis, applying technical experience, knowledge and established assessment frameworks and approaches
  • Assist in the development and application of methodologies and best practices related to specific technical areas.
  • Appropriately forecast and communicate time and costs to stakeholders, enabling effective budget management
  • Be financially astute, understanding and communicate funding models (CAPEX/OPEX) to the team and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all security policies
  • Remain current with relevant thinking on privacy and security
  • Attributes, Competencies, Knowledge and Skills

 

Essential

 

  • Technically highly capable with a background in IT 
  • Experienced in delivering IT using multiple methodologies, i.e., Waterfall, Agile
  • Experience in integrations and software development at scale where the product and service are heavily dependent on IT platforms and rapidly evolving technology.
  • Strategic and objective decision making demonstrating balanced consideration of technical and business issues, and individual and team goals 
  • Managing partners in a complex environment
  • A strong communicator able to connect with multiple audiences on multiple mediums. 
  • Experience of analysing, assessing and resolving complex technology requirements, problems and issues 
  • Demonstrated ability to implement processes, metrics, and operational rigor.

 

Desirable

 

  • Industry accredited and recognised in industry as an expert.
  • A track record of delivering technologies at scale in a complex business
  • A confident public speaker
  • Strong track record of overseeing complex IT environments with experience in the communications sector
