The Role

Matific is seeking great Technical Lead experienced in Java Web development to join Matific and be part our first web team in our Colombo office, as part of our cutting edge existing global web group to who develop a world class distance learning platform. 

This will involve working closely with our product and development teams to create an easy to use teacher interface, bring joy and happiness to students worldwide and build and enhance our public websites. Given the start-up nature of the company, you will need to be flexible and inventive in the delivery of your outcomes.

As part of this role, you are required to up skill yourself in to Python/Django and we highly encourage you to become a full stack engineer with Angular.

Responsibilities include:

·       Building web educational content software, for teachers and students using Django and Angular 

·       Developer API’s and web components with collaboration with the other teams

·       Participate in peer code reviews.

REQUIREMENTS

·       8+ years experience in server side development with Java in Web environment 

·       Experience in Python/Django is a definite advantage 

·       CS degree with top grades and/or top abilities

·       Experience using JIRA to manage development tasks is an advantage

·       Experience with source control management systems, preferably Git

·       Cloud hosting, AWS preferred is an advantage

·       CI/CD tools (Jenkins preferred) is an Advantage

·       Experienced with containerised applications such as ECS, Kubernetes, Docker is an advantage

·       Client-side experience (Angular 2+ or React, HTML, CSS, JS) is an advantage 

·       Team player with a 'can-do' attitude

·       Must be fluent in spoken and written English

·       Self-learner

·       Passion for quality

·       Willingness to travel to our global offices for a few weeks if needed
