Job Description

As a Team Manager you will plan, develop, motivate, organise and control the activities and resources of a team to deliver operational objectives, building effective capability in the team to ensure targets can be achieved whilst continually maintaining all quality, regulatory and procedural standards.

What you will do:

  • Lead, develop, coach and motivate assigned employees to ensure they are aware of and capable of delivering their responsibilities and to ensure the creation and maintenance of an effective working climate and a continuous improvement ethos.
  • Plan, organise, oversee and monitor the activities of the team to optimise resources and oversee their work so that the team maximises its performance against all relevant targets and standards.
  • Continually review and measure team activities against sales and other targets, standards and service levels, agreeing and taking actions to improve capability and performance, so that the team achieves its maximum potential.
  • Ensure the team understands business plans and requirements, plus current performance achievements, in the context of their own work to facilitate them in contributing to overall business improvement activities and performance.
  • Ensure all required team management and administrative activities, including performance management processes and action on individual performance issues, are carried out effectively so that the team functions smoothly.
  • Lead the rapid identification, analysis and resolution of operational problems to ensure the minimum interruption to the team’s work, and present conclusions and recommendations to more senior staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements relevant to the role.
  • Support and promote compliance with those requirements within the role and the business.

Please note that this position is Home-based but you will be required to travel into the Manchester office on a bi-weekly basis

Your experience will include:

  • Previous experience of managing a team including the capability to plan and control activity and performance in relation to productivity, quality and other key requirements
  • Able to organise and manage personal and team workload to meet stretching targets and regulatory deadlines
  • Able to evidence establishing effective working relationships at different levels and can demonstrate the ability to work as part of a management team
  • Experience of working in a heavily regulated environment
  • Experience or knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
  • Knowledge or experience of Client Money (CASS) regulations and requirements would be advantageous
  • Achievement and maintenance of competence, defined by the company’s Training and Competence (T&C) Scheme

The role is a classed as a certified function under SMCR (Senior Manager’s Certification Regime) with qualification requirements.  Therefore, you will either have the relevant Investment qualifications or be prepared to study towards the IOC (Investments Operations Certificate) and pass within a specified timeframe (48 months)
