What you’ll be doing

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the day to day running of the Landscape team with the support of the Landscaping Section Manager. To create with the management team a profitable and efficient section of the business to drive sales, provide excellent customer service and team leadership.

• Running a team, providing clear and direct instructions

• Liaising with contractors and material suppliers.

• Ensure all vehicles and materials are ready for the start of the working day

• Ensure all landscape work is carried out to the specification of the plans and customer requirements

• Adapting the site arrangements to reflect weather/working conditions.

• Responsible for on-site Risk Assessment and Health & Safety controls

• Accurate recording of time, materials and wastage

• To take an active role in democratic processes within the partnership

• Personal development of self and Partners.

About Leckford

Leckford is a 4,000-acre estate near Stockbridge, Hampshire. The estate was purchased in 1929 by John Spedan Lewis, founder of the John Lewis Partnership, and we have been farming it now for nearly 90 years.

We are the Waitrose Farm and our produce is supplied to Waitrose stores across the country. The estate is diverse and our commercial businesses span property, food production, farming, retail and leisure activities.

What you’ll need

• Practical experience of a hard and soft landscaping business

• Proven Team Leadership experience

• Plant identification and knowledge

• Proactive and motivated

• Full, clean driving license

What else could you bring?

• Diploma / HNC In Horticulture or RHS approved qualification

• Management experience in a landscaping role

• Chainsaw certificate

• Forklift certificate
