As a Systems (Application) Architect in the Provider Value Stream this role is ideal for some with a strong desire to innovate and provide technology strategy roadmaps, direction and guidance. In this role you will build and provide direction on Architecture of Claim Reimbursement platforms with a range of cutting edge technologies. This role will require passionate and deep technology knowledge with hands-on development experience, as well as an ability to understand the broader enterprise vision and process so solutions align across the entire experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build Technology roadmaps which are modern, scalable, highly available on premise platforms
• Lead technology and architecture evaluation aligning with Technology roadmap
• Provide guidance to Development teams on architecture framework, patterns, best practices, approved technologies and tools & solutions
• Influence communication effort to ensure that application and infrastructure leaders are fully knowledgeable of new technologies, tools and solutions and impact to their organizations
• Plan, drive and deliver innovative, reusable solutions for Cigna US Commercial and Health Services
• Assess vendor products and support build vs buy decisions to ensure strategic alignment to the tools & technologies

Required Experience / Qualifications:

• Experience architecting and building all facets of large scale, modular platforms
• Experience in hands-on coding 
  • building platforms using Java based IDE/Frameworks
  • designing, building and setting standards for Object Oriented processing within Java based IDE/Frameworks
  • architecting and building Object Oriented processes within Java based IDE/Frameworks
• Experience designing and coding in streaming technologies using Kafka, Kafka Connect

Desired Experience / Qualifications:

• Experience with Pega Platform
• Excellent communication skills
• Provide recommendations and design optimal configurations for large-scale deployments
• Passionate about resolving user pain points through great design

This role is WAH/Flex which allows most if not all of the work is to be performed at home.  Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.
