Key Qualifications

• Programming skills to build and maintain scripts (e.g. Python or Perl)
• Practical knowledge of UNIX command line, SSH clients & operating systems
• Familiar with network protocols and compiler concepts
• Comfortable reading backtraces and stack traces
• At home with version control systems such as git or subversion
• Comprehensive trouble shooting & software debugging skills
• Ability to clearly document processes and update wiki pages

Description

Software Build Engineers have the opportunity to utilize and implement solutions using distributed computing, cloud services, and virtualization technologies to deliver Apple software to customers. This involves engineering innovative solutions for Apple's production build system in support of macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS, Xcode, and more!As a Build Engineer in the team you will constantly be asking questions for clarification and context to understand the big picture. You’ll need to find multiple solutions to a problem, evaluate tradeoffs, and decide the best approach. Working in such a critical function for quality, an attention to detail with a test mentality to run CI/CD, a broad code coverage and chaos engineering is crucial. Understanding, retaining and performing complex procedures will be a core part to your role. Success requires everyone to be eager to jump in and help where needed with a positive attitude. In return, you’ll be rewarded with exposure to an incredible breath of technology and the chance to master many new skills including Swift, Python, JavaScript, Objective-C etc Based in London we work closely with teams across Apple worldwide.
