Job purpose       

BorgWarner is seeking a Software Build Manager in either Auburn Hills, MI or Kokomo, IN. The Software Architect will be pioneer software build and release activities.

This individual is responsible for managing and improving our software infrastructure and tools/scripts that enable rapid iteration across the entire software team and leading design and implementation of the release and deployment pipelines.

He/She will provide the infrastructure and processes that give global development teams an optimal development environment to enable them to strive for high throughput.

Key responsibilities

  • Own builds, releases and continuous integration process for large and multi variant releases.
  • Actively manage build infrastructure, code generation/automation scripts.
  • Identify, troubleshoot & resolve software integration issues found throughout the development cycle.
  • Build and track metrics to proactively drive software improvement
  • Plan, monitor, execute and drive consistent processes across regularly scheduled and fix releases, maintain release calendar.
  • Proactively monitor for and address issues that may impact build and release processes.
  • Use industry best practices to improve build, release and continuous integration processes.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering field.
  • Sophisticated knowledge on fundamental software build, linking process.
  • Sophisticated knowledge on makefile, gunmake, Cmake… (Linux/Unix expertise is a plus)
  • Demonstrate expertise in the lower levels of the embedded software, including but not limited to System startup, boot chain, memory partition, system resource utilization.
  • Demonstrate expertise in developing and executing automated builds and scripts
  • Experience in Autosar configuration and Integration, understanding of Autosar code generators, parsers and other auto-generation tool methodologies.
  • Experience in branch/merge strategies and code management.
  • Team player who has a collaborative attitude towards work and colleagues in a large global organization.
  • Ability to influence and socialize technical ideas across the engineering team.
