Job Description:
The SVP, Alternatives Institutional Portfolio Manager (IPM) is responsible for aligning the ongoing management, innovation, development and delivery of alternatives investment solutions provided by Fidelity Investments (FMR). The IPM will partner with Fidelity’s distribution businesses to retain the existing client base and grow institutional assets under management in collaboration with various Fidelity business units.
A successful candidate will:
Build the go-to-market sales strategy for the direct lending and credit alternative products, which will include a total addressable market analysis, partnering with sales teams internally to define prospect targets, understanding of accurate pricing structures and outlining the current product structures for different customer types
Work with product, legal, compliance, sales and others in the structuring of products
Collaborate with sales and portfolio teams on complete alternative selling process from sourcing and meeting with prospective investors, to educating internal sales teams to working through prospect’s due diligence process to working with client servicing
Build visibility and education around our alternatives business for internal sales channels including how alternatives fits into overall portfolio allocation through prospect’s due diligence process to client reporting
Ensure we are selling into the right target audience including support of all sales channels
Work with marketing teams to craft client-facing collateral including understanding proper risk statistics to highlight
Provide client and consultant feedback to senior leaders
Identify thought leadership events and coordinate roundtable discussions with the support of sales and marketing
Partner with marketing to develop white papers, case studies, trickle marketing campaigns, and press releases
Explain our competitive advantage and bring the full Fidelity to the market
Work with clients on understanding periodic performance reports and annual reviews
Collaborate on new products and be creative in bring value to our clients
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Experience in the private markets industry, including hedge funds, real estate, Private Debt, BDC’s and Direct Lending; liquid alternatives a plus
15+ years’ experience working within alternatives in product development, relationship management and sales
Ability to break down sophisticated products and structures for various levels of staff and clients
Experience in creating product promotion materials, articles and public speaking
Proven track record when working with uncertainty in building and executing a fast growing business segment
Outstanding collaboration skills and ability to partner across portfolio managers, product development, senior managers, legal and compliance, and sales people across various coverage areas, among others

The Asset Management Compliance, Risk and Business Operations (CRBO) team comprises the following teams: AM Compliance, AM Risk, Business Operations and Strategy, Counterparty Research & Analytics, Investment Services and Strategic Business Initiatives. The teams work together to support Asset Management’s strategic goals while being the best partner to the business to protect our clients via proactive compliance monitoring, risk oversight and strategic business planning. The team’s key organizational themes are business partnership and stewardship, platform modernization, innovation, and talent development.
