We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Surveillance Associate Product Manager working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
Role Purpose
- Communications surveillance capability and business process is a key part of the Surveillance landscape, and broader Financial Crime intelligence-led strategy. The Product Owner will be part of the Communications Surveillance Capability Team.
- This team has responsibility for all Financial Crime Communications Surveillance capabilities used across HSBC. The role holder will sit within the Communications Surveillance Capability team, focusing predominantly on Voice and Electronic communications product management.
- The Product Owner will be responsible for working on continuous improvement to the current product, and working alongside the Project Delivery team to ensure operational readiness and business adoption across the Communications Surveillance capability, covering both Voice and Electronic Communications. The Product Owner will be responsible for helping to prioritise and implement continuous improvement to current and future capabilities.
- This will include continuous control refinement and testing, functionality enhancements, and monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of both the technology and business process. The incumbent will also be involved in various workstreams across the Communications Surveillance estate with regards to Product Health, Risk Tailoring and Risk Detection.
- Supporting the necessary transformation of HSBC’s Communications surveillance capability is a significant part of this role. This will involve working closely with technology vendors, consultants and the internal technology team to support the delivery of the Communications surveillance product transformation and maintenance of product health across the capability.
In this role, you will:
- Ensuring that the technology employed by the Communications Surveillance work stream is effective and efficient.
- Assist with the review process to generate optimal business value is achieved by the end user.
- Contribute to the wider communications surveillance strategy
- Facilitate and capture business requirements and document these by producing a Business Requirement Document.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to analyse problem(s) to be addressed and ensure clear and complete understanding of requirements.
- Ensure that requirements documentation provides an accurate, comprehensive account of the business problem to be addressed, ensure buy-in/sign-off from stakeholders.
- Ensure the requirements documentation and proposed solution is clearly understood by the technology team(s).
- Analyse and document the existing business process; prepare future business process recommendations and new system functionality.
- Ensure signoff of requirements by relevant stakeholders and sponsors in accordance with project time frames.
Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Experience of working on business change and transformation projects.
- Experience of working with JIRA, triage of business requirements and JIRA prioritisation
- Experience working on large/strategic projects, preferably in a mix of business and technical capacities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve simple and complex issues quickly and accurately.
- Disciplined approach to requirements elicitation through signoff, testing and implementation.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to adjust priorities as necessary to meet the established deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work as part of a team, and independently, under minimal supervision.
- Practical experience in functional analysis and design, utilising different methodologies.
- Diversified experience across multiple working environments i.e. different functions and business lines.
- Working autonomously in pressurised environments, prioritising work in a multi-client environment where demand exceeds supply.
- Understanding of financial markets, current and upcoming regulatory requirements around Conduct, Surveillance and Front Office Supervision.
- Knowledge of the surveillance landscape; including tools, vendors and competitors.
- A good understanding of the regulatory landscape across the jurisdictions in where HSBC operates.
