Summary:

This position supports Reliability and Production by facilitating material availability at the right time, and at the lowest possible cost.  This is accomplished through the use of standard operating procedures for inventory control, reduction, receiving, inspection, storage, and any other activities critical to world-class storeroom operations.  This position requires strong customer service, communication, accuracy, and organizational skills.  Successful associates must be self-motivated, willing to make decisions and perform without direct supervision. 

 
Principal Accountabilities:

• As a team member, the individual has direct responsibility and accountability for stockroom window operations, cycle counts, inventory reduction and part kitting.
• Issue materials and action returns
• Review Re-Order report for accuracy of inventory levels.
• Perform daily cycle counts accurately and efficiently
• Receiving of all stocked materials and special order items for entire factory
• Shipping: LTL, Parcel, including international and Hazardous materials
• Able to safely operate a forklift.
• Computer data research, entry and reporting
• Understand principles of inventory control.
• Enforces access control to stockroom
• Be a resource to plant associates in locating stocked materials
• Comply with 5S and Visual Workplace standards.
• Comply with First In First Out when stocking new parts
• Resolve discrepancies of all inventory items to obtain maximum inventory accuracy.
• Monitor material usage and provide feedback as appropriate to identify unusual usage in order to identify potential equipment problems and/or prevent stock-outs
• Be proactive when performing tasks to improve stockroom, i.e. relabeling and organizing stock shelves
• Call out stock additions to Bill Of Materials, always trying to improve our stockroom BOM

• Slow and methodical during off shifts and slow times
• Ability to interact in a team environment and solve problems together
• Shows initiative in self and team development, dependable, actively support new objectives
• Must be very diligent and cordial when dealing with customers and providing customer service

Decision Making Authority:

• Identification of parts for possible reduction/ removal approval
• Off-shift material procurement including purchasing and shipping

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to accurately measure items using tape measures and calipers.
• Basic Computer skills including SAP, MS Excel, MS Outlook
• Capability to understand and communicate using common terms such as UOM, BOM, ID, OD….

Education:

• High school degree or equivalent

Minimum Experience: 

• Some previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Supply chain experience a plus.

Job Requirements:

• Safely move heavy, odd shaped items using various materials handling equipment.
• Current Class C Drivers License
• Comfortable on ladders
• Ability to work 3 shift rotating schedules, weekends, and Holidays as needed. 
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts on the weekend or when needed to support stockroom needs
• Perform all duties and functions with little or no direct supervision or support.
