Basic Job Description:

The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Supply Chain 787 Value Stream Integration organization is looking for a Senior Manager (Level M) in North Charleston, SC.

Job Description Summary:

This Senior Manager will be accountable for managing teams with responsibly for Supply Chain integration and oversight in support of 787 Program.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess in-depth knowledge and experience with Supply Chain and procurement processes and will represent the Supply Chain at all levels and functions in support of the 787 Program. Must have the capability to lead in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Candidate will need strong business acumen, communication and problem solving skills to build and enhance relationships with internal stakeholders across Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Program. Manufacturing and Technical knowledge is strongly preferred.

Your team will perform all activities related to managing Supply Chain integration on the 787 program. This position will integrate with the associated business relationships and drive performance within the supply chain. You will develop strategies to ensure integration and alignment between Program, customer, supply chain ops, and suppliers to program priorities. Your team will monitor key performance indicators of supplier performance including delivery, quality, and financial performance to identify, manage/mitigate potential risks and issues

This position is expected to be onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the above listed location.

Job Description Summary:

  • Acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements.
  • Manages employees and managers from multiple Supplier Management and Procurement disciplines performing activities related to the acquisition of goods and services in support of company operations, supplier assessment and performance improvement, management and improvement of supply chain management and processes and supplier diversity.
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Provides oversight regarding negotiation strategies, processes and related tools. Manages, develops and motivates employees and managers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • This is a first shift position requiring on-site presence.  Schedule flexibility around the needs of the business may also be required.
  • Partners with other program VSI Leaders to ensure consistent support across all BCA Airplane Programs
  • Manages team of employees and managers from multiple supply chain disciplines performing activities to improve supply chain performance and process improvement in support of the 787 program and its initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with suppliers, customers, internal stakeholders, and peers within all levels of leadership. 
  • Acts as the supply chain liaison representative to the Program and as a member of the Program leadership team.
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business, strategies, goals and objectives.
  • Develops and improves key performance indicators, through system development and process improvement to manage and communicate Supply Chain performance
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities and leads process improvements.
  • Provides oversight and approval of integration approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and managers.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Provides oversight regarding negotiation strategies, processes and related tools.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience working with Supply Chain, Fulfillment or Manufacturing.
  • Experience interfacing with upper level management.
  • Experience in advising and influencing managers or non-managers to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems.
  • Experience in project management.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in a manufacturing or factory support environment.
  • Experience working with quality systems.
  • Experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
  • Experience collaborating with teams to build partnerships and influence a positive brand.
  • Familiarity with Fabrication and Production system

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc.).
