Cox Communications, Inc. is seeking a Supply Chain Data Analyst to help set inventory strategy including ABC classification, safety stock, service levels, order vs. stock, and other supply planning parameters. This role will be responsible for reviewing existing operating reports to identify opportunities to improve inventory strategy or processes and creating repeatable or ad hoc analyses as needed. This role will partner with the BI team for the creation of visualizations and to request any data that is not readily available. The ideal candidate will have experience with a range of analytical tools and technologies and an eagerness to evolve those skills as our Supply Chain Organization matures to more sophisticated solutions. The Inventory Analyst will help set the inventory strategy, implement, and monitor adherence to that strategy for >$150M in capital requiring independent decision-making and is expected to exercise independent judgment within the analyst’s scope.

Initially, these analyses exist or will need to be developed via custom tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, etc. Eventually, this individual will play a key role partnering with an outside vendor during the implementation of a supply chain planning tool, becoming the team SME.

What You’ll Do 

Develop and implement inventory strategies to most efficiently balance working capital with service levels

Build statistical models to dynamically calculate the optimal level of inventory by SKU-location

Build statistical models to determine stocking policies and ABC segmentation of SKU-location combinations

Determine min/max levels for stocked items based on demand pattern, predictability, and lead times

Analyze existing reporting to measure success of stocking strategies. As needed, creates new reports in Excel/SQL or collaborates with stakeholders and IT to build more sophisticated reports.

Take ownership of monthly Slow and Obsolete reporting to calculate inventory reserve and communicate any adjustments needed to Accounting.

Assist with identification and disposition of slow and obsolete inventory including coordinating with boundary partners to determine the most cost-effective solution.

Provides input on software selection and implementation for inventory optimization tool/planning tool.

Own configuration of inventory optimization/planning tool.

Actively participate in developing Advanced Planning Systems requirements, RFP, configuration, testing, and deployment

Qualifications:

Who You Are

Minimum

2+ years of experience required in related field (i.e., supply chain, business, industrial engineering).

Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Experience creating statistical models.

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.

Minimal travel required for exposure to field operations.

Preferred

BS/BA degree in industrial engineering, operations research, or business

Demonstrated experience in supply chain planning

APICS certification

Oracle supply chain and ERP experience

Experience with Advanced Planning Systems with inventory optimization capability
