 You will be supporting the management of multiple freight forwarders and influencing New Look’s Buying and Merchandising, Finance and Supply Base departments to ensure New Look’s fast and efficient supply chain delivers the right stock to the right place at the right time.

With your knowledge of internal systems and of the fast-fashion and supply chain industries, you will be responsible for accurate forecasting of upstream activities and capacity planning, influencing key stakeholders to enable consistent cost-effective and fast decision-making.

Responsible for leading data gathering and analysis, you will develop data-led strategies for continuous improvement and cost-saving, including playing a critical role in the development and implementation of the departmental roadmaps.  You will use analytical techniques to identify solutions to problems.

As a Subject-Matter Expert for supply chain activities, you will support all other business departments and use your knowledge of business processes to influence key stakeholders, contributing to the on-going development of business processes and projects.  You will use your influence within the business to contribute to continual reviews on sourcing, sustainability, and cost improvements across the supply chain.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Responsible for all upstream reporting and weekly intake forecasting requirements for the Supply Chain department, supporting the Supply Chain Planning and Analytics Manager, using your influence to propose recommendations to the business on how to increase speed within the supply chain while minimising cost and reducing errors.

• Upstream volume, timing, and cost planning in conjunction with BMD Finance and Logistics Planning, through accurate development of planning metrics and supporting the Supply Chain Planning and Analytics Manager.  

• Design, implement and maintain downstream reporting on supply chain activities and stock availability, supporting the weekly QFR ‘Int & Dist’ process, internal operational tools, and weekly DC planning.

• Make decisions based on reporting and detailed analysis to ensure all stakeholders are aware of risks, change and opportunities.

• Design, implement and maintain departmental reporting and forecasting strategies to aid the development of processes and projects within the department.

• Improve all departmental reporting capabilities in support of departmental change (not limited to; technology roadmaps, ediTRACK development, Intake Database replacement, ATLAS, PLM etc.)

Responsible for leading UK and international teams in the provision of accurate exception management of all stock at PO level from FOB or point of availability to DC Free Stock at any one of our international distribution hubs:

• Using data to coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLP) and influencing service levels to agreed KPIs.

• Managing accurate and specific lines of data communication, allowing information to flow smoothly and being responsible for decisions based on it.

• Planning and making daily decisions based around both international events and business sales, liaising with BMD and DC teams to enable maximum speed-to-store at minimum cost.

• Demonstrating high levels of data analysis and process awareness to ensure all potential issues are pre-empted, providing further recommendations and guidance to the Supply Chain Coordination and BMD teams to resolve.

Responsible for the effective analysis of daily intake of stock at PO and MG level, liaising with product teams, suppliers, New Look’s UK NDC / international hubs and freight forwarders.

• Coordination of SCC team to scrutinise and identify all issues which could impact delivery of all product types from a supply base of 270 suppliers, providing expert support to BMD and suppliers in achieving on-time deliveries.

• Working alongside the Junior Supply Chain Manager in ensuring maximum profit protection by providing the analysis of all metrics of an average of 3 million units of product moving through the supply chain every week, making recommendations and leading the Supply Chain Coordination team in operational changes or strategies.

Responsible for decision-making and resolution of problems to ensure efficient use of supply chain resources, with all customers in mind.

• Act as first-line support for all business departments on supply chain activities, using industry knowledge and analytical techniques to both influence and resolve issues.

• Provide support to BMD teams in purchase order raising and management processes, training and influencing where necessary to ensure minimum level errors.

Responsible for developing clear and simple supply chain management (SCM) techniques and practices, collaborating with the Supply Chain Planning And Analytics Manager to implement significant change.

• Adopt a process approach to the functions within the supply chain, identifying key inputs and outputs, in order to streamline work activities and identify cost-saving benefits.

• Organise processes around meeting customer requirements and regularly review for effectiveness.

Working with the Supply Chain Planning And Analytics Manager and Supply Base Manager to improve slippage coding/reporting and to provide analysis on supply chain issues.

• Maintain up-stream lead time reporting, providing analysis and recommendations regularly.

• Work to improve lead times and supporting BMD in meeting critical milestones through the production of data-driven ideas and reporting.

Responsible for configuration and maintenance of all Supply Chain related systems such as RMS, PLM and ediTRACK.

• Technical Lead on development and improvement activities.

• Provide supply chain specific expertise in all issue-resolution and development activities led by IT.

Acts as a Subject-Matter-Expert for PO-based and CTM freight expense management, providing support to BMD, Finance and IT as and when required through effective knowledge of RMS, Uplift Calculator, PLM and ediTRACK.

• Responsible for development of improved forecasting on freight costs, suggesting improvements and influencing the necessary areas of the business.

• Responsible for the maintenance of the Uplift Calculator and production of exception-based reporting to identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Supply chain, freight and multi-modal transportation knowledge or experience

• Experience of working as part of a fast-paced team, proven team leadership skills

Knowledge & Experience (none essential)

• Detailed understanding of New Look’s business priorities and processes

• Working knowledge of New Look’s trading applications from a functional perspective

• Retail merchandising skills

• Fashion retail experience

• Experience of using analytical tools and MIS/Business Intelligence solutions

• Detailed technical and operational understanding of ediTRACK

• Knowledge of retail order management systems

• Knowledge of retail Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) systems

Technical Skills

• Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies

• Technical, ‘under the bonnet’ understanding of ediTRACK, RMS, PO Portal and BI

• Excellent, proven MS Excel skills and experience required

Minimum Level Of Education or Qualifications

• Graduate level qualifications preferred

• Logistics or Supply Chain industry related qualifications desirable
