Supply Chain Analysts keep the manufacturing plant operating by ensuring that purchase parts availability meets production demand.  As a result, the Procurement Team depends on the Global Supply Chain Analyst to proactively communicate with global supply base to ensure that all direct purchased material shipments are ordered and shipped on time. 

Job Accountabilities and Performance Criteria 

 

Process Management: 35%  

Independently, and or in collaboration with others, exercise functional knowledge to effectively and efficiently execute business processes that ensure the absolute accuracy of system information and supplier communications.  Demonstrated behaviors should include the ability to effectively: 

  • Resolve receiving discrepancies, obtain replacement parts for quality issues and reconcile MAV data and reporting to ensure accurate data capture and system integrity 

  • Monitor and analyze MRP to ensure schedule accuracy based on Master Schedule and Bill of Material Changes (BOMC) for current production and/or new product development 

  • Communicate proactively with suppliers to expedite shipments as needed 

  • Resolve unexpected or unknown issues expeditiously as they arise 

  • Collaborate with the Category Team as needed to resolve issues identified through the MRP analysis process 

 

Supply Chain Collaboration & Partnerships: 30%  

Independently, and in collaboration with assigned suppliers within the global supply base, plan and issue releases against purchase orders.  Maintain effective business communications/relationships with suppliers and internal customers to proactively understand production fluctuations to proactively disseminate relevant information to all stakeholders and meet customer expectations and business requirements.  Demonstrated behaviors should include the ability to effectively: 

  • Consult with suppliers and customers to ensure all customer needs and expectations are understood and addressed 

  • Serve as a consultative resource and collaborative partner to both customers and suppliers to ensure orders are placed and shipped on time  

  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely, accurate and consultative manner 

  • Conduct supplier on-time shipping performance analysis and proactively provide insightful information to their desk plan and the category team 

  • Analyze and evaluate performance, inventory cost and freight cost trade-offs to provide optimal solution recommendations 

  • Maintain and revise desk plans on a quarterly basis to evaluate past performance, ensure continued efficiency and identify continuous improvement opportunities.  

  

Inventory Management:  20% 

Effectively balance the need for reduced inventory costs against the need for a highly flexible manufacturing schedule.  Demonstrated behaviors should include the ability to effectively: 

  • Review, analyze and update all system planning parameters, as needed based on current conditions, to effectively and accurately communicate purchased component needs to our global supply base. 

  • Identify areas of improvement to capitalize on inventory cost reduction through the use of inventory management best practices (i.e. VMI, Pull, ABC, POC, etc.) 

  • Consult with manufacturing to understand and execute against PFEP constraints  

  • Investigate issues, develop analytical insights and escalate emerging concerns as needed 

  • Make insightful recommendations on effective issue resolution to mitigate and remediate known issues to ensure customer satisfaction 

  

Project Management: 10% 

As assigned and in collaboration with a Black Belt resource or others, initiate projects, communicate project updates, identify barriers to project success and implement project plans.  Passionately lead fellow employees by communicating the vision, engaging employees and empowering them to become change agents who are prepared and able to successfully lead the organization forward to embrace the future. Demonstrated behaviors should include the ability to effectively: 

  • Utilize various project management tools and templates, and communicate relevant project data to project mentor via desk plan strategy 

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of project results and effectiveness to ensure ongoing project effectiveness and sustainability

  • Inspire and motivate people by living out the organization’s vision in their everyday business encounters 

  • Demonstrate Influential Leadership:

Continuous Process Improvement: 5% 

Independently and/or in collaboration with internal and external working partners, define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes, programs and supplier performance to effectively, efficiently and proactively achieve strategic business initiatives and/or key performance indicators.  Demonstrated behaviors should include the ability to effectively: 

  • Manage projects necessary to execute continuous improvement plans in accordance with the category strategy  

 

Job Competency Requirements 

 

Experience / Professional Credentials: 

  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain management 

  • CPIM certification preferred 

  • LSS Green Belt preferred 

 

Education Requirements: 

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a closely related business field is required 

 

Subject Matter Knowledge: 

  • Product Inventory Management  

  • Work In-Process (WIP) Management 

 

Baseline Skill Expectations: 

Intermediate level skills and demonstrated proficiency requirements include: 

  • Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency 

  • Accuracy  

  • Time Management 

Beginner level skills and demonstrated proficiency requirements include: 

  • Accountability 

  • Team Work and Collaboration 

  • Interpersonal, written and verbal communication

  • Negotiation 

 

Business Travel Expectations:

  • This position will require occasional day and/or overnight travel by auto or airplane, up to 5%.
