Overview

This position is responsible for creating and maintaining processes to monitor commercial, geopolitical, or other supply base risks which could potentially cause an interruption in supply or have an adverse impact to the global Purchasing team. This position will collaborate with our Global Procurement, Treasury, and Information Technology teams to ensure internal data is harnessed, reported and used in a way to analyze and predict the impacts of various risk criteria.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute risk management strategies in conjunction with the Global Commodity Strategy Team 
• Effectively identify and communicate the risks to internal stakeholders. 
• Coordinate the creation of infrastructure to imbed Supplier (commercial) Risk monitoring into our procurement information systems
• Create, maintain and comprehensively analyze fundamental and technical information for commodities used by the company
• Develop communication on market developments, forecasts and risks
• Identify best practice amongst peer companies and in other sectors where appropriate
• Monitor and mitigate supplier risk using internal and external systems
• Develop and implement risk management strategies and processes
• Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders on risk related issues
• Manage relationships with 3rd party credit risk monitoring firms
• Lead cross-functional teams to make clear and effective decisions to reduce risk imposed by the supply base
• Ensure compliance to Dodd Frank Section 1502, Conflict Mineral regulations
• Manage special risk-related projects as they arise
• <10% (Domestic and International) Travel 
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Information Technology, Finance, Economics or related field of study

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a global setting, preferably automotive. 

• Effective written and oral communication with internal and external customers

• Possess a level of financial acumen along with industry and market knowledge

• Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Demonstrate networking skills and the ability to influence people

• Detail oriented, analytical and organized with strong communication skills

• Ability to think logically, problem solve, and quickly grasp concepts and information technology systems.

• Ability to relay complex issues in digestible format within the company
