Supplier Quality Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Supplier Quality Engineer.The primary responsibility of the Supplier Quality Engineer is supporting Precision Planting to ensure supplier components meet design requirements to provide the highest level of quality and exceed customer expectations.
The SQE collaborates directly with suppliers, engineers, buyers, managers, operations, and other staff to address any product non-conformities. Develop, track, and verify effectiveness of corrective action plans that address non-conformities. Participate in qualification and audit activities at the supplier.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create and track corrective action plans to address root causes of product and process non-conformities. Interface directly with suppliers, internal personnel, and customers on completion and effectiveness.
Review supplier manufacturing processes and collaborate with suppliers on process improvement opportunities as needed
Analyze and maintain supplier data as it relates to product quality
Participate in Material Review Board and assist in dispositioning non-conforming products
Work independently and with project team members to develop and implement inspection and test procedures at suppliers
Reviews and approves PPAP & FAI prior to delivery of new parts to Precision Planting
Work with Purchasing and Engineering in conducting existing and new supplier audits
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Experience
BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.:
Minimum of 3 years of Quality Engineering, Manufacturing engineering or engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
Solid knowledge of fabrication, machining, or assembly-based quality control methods, tools, and techniques.
Working knowledge of ERP systems, inventory control software, and QMS software.
Strong problem solving skills with ability to facilitate problem solving in a team environment.
Experience using quality tools and methodologies such as root cause analysis, 8D, SPC, FMEA, PPAP, etc.
Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings & specifications.
Experience with metrology equipment and various inspection methods.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to productively interface with team members, vendors, and customers.
Strong communication, presentation, and team skills, including oral and written.
Established organizational and time management skills.
Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
Potential for travel: up to 10% depending on customer requirement
Desired Skills
Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and components.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite as well as the Google equivalents.
Proficiency querying data with SQL for data analysis and data visualization.
