What are we looking for?

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Packaging Science, Engineering or related technical
• 5+ years in Quality and/or manufacturing in the food industry
• Experience in people leadership, preferred.
• Experience in Supplier Quality, preferred.
• The physical capability of working in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Travel Required: 20-30%

What will be your key responsibilities?

This leader is accountable for the “Supplier Management” and “Supplier Risk Assessment & Approval” sections of the PQM standard.  In addition, this role will have accountability for delivering metrics related to supplier mixed packaging events, PQM compliance, and qualify new suppliers and drive supplier compliance to Mars Quality and Food Safety requirements. The objective is to ensure that we are delivering the best quality of products to our consumers. This role is a key interface between Suppliers and Sourcing managers.

• Develop and lead a team of 5 talented and engaged Supplier Quality Assurance Associates that possess deep expertise in packaging materials such as flexible packaging, retort packaging, and corrugate.
• Manage the SQA audit process with suppliers to identify strengths and gaps that need to be addressed in order to deliver in-specification material to all Mars NA Petcare sites.
• Manage cross segment relationships to share best practices and streamline shared audits
• Support new product launches and line extensions by conducting supplier qualifications in a timely manner.
• Accountable for maintaining the approved suppliers list for packaging materials.
• Assure that supplier reviews are conducted according to PQM standard.
• Manage New Supplier Qualifications for packaging material
