The roles
We are looking for 2 Supplier Management Analysts to join the Supplier Management Team within DDTS Major Projects. The Major Projects Directorate are at the forefront of leading exciting, complex and large scale digital projects in DEFRA. The two projects currently in the function are the Europe and Trade Delivery Portfolio and the Future Farming and Countryside Programme which are high profile and strategic projects.
The DDTS Major Project Function is fast-paced and the unpredictable and responsive nature of the work creates a distinct culture of teamwork and information sharing and attracts highly motivated staff with diverse understanding and backgrounds.
As a Supplier Management Analyst you will have a critical role in managing supplier performance, sourcing and procurement of new requirements and managing various tools to monitor financial spend.
This role will be working to support the Lead Supplier Manager, and Supplier Management Lead Analyst, in managing supplier performance by building and maintaining trusted relationships with key technology suppliers, this will include issues that are high on the political agenda. You will support the Supplier Management team colleagues to ensure that virtual multi-disciplinary teams of technical, service, commercial and legal colleagues work together to successfully manage suppliers.
You will be part of cutting-edge digital development for systems that are crucial to UK public services and our future. Across both Programmes, teams are working to create the most digitally advanced systems possible while working closely with policy and business teams.
• Building and maintaining good working relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Ensuring suppliers adhere to the Value for Money (VfM) standards.
• Continually monitoring supplier performance using the appropriate processes and tools including scorecards and formal reviews.
• Ensure confidentiality, impartiality, and unbiased approach with all the suppliers.
• Review supplier reports, complex spreadsheets, Management Information (MI), and KPIs to understand supplier performance, behaviours, and strengths
.
• Ensure that in all engagements, both held personally and by the wider team, adhere to Defra’s information management policies.
• Maintaining accurate records of suppliers and key contacts.
• Creating and maintaining financial trackers to provide forecast and supplier metrics.
• Validating the accuracy and approving supplier timesheets and associated invoices. There may be timesheets for c150 resources, with the associated invoices being for multi-million pounds each month.
Skills and Experience
• Has good working knowledge of supplier relationship management and commercial processes and procedures.
• Able to manage commercial Statement of Works, finance trackers, Purchase to Pay and supplier performance reviews.
• Excellent understanding of managing, reviewing, and analysing commercial and financial information that may be presented in a variety of ways by different suppliers.
• Good experience of working in a multi-supplier environment.
• Possesses the ability to analyse and review both financial and commercial information.
• Maintain good relationships with senior stakeholders and external partners.
• Ability to take ownership of their own workload and deliver positive outcomes

If successful at sift stage, you will be invited to interview where you will be assessed on your Experience and the listed Behaviours.
Interview dates are expected to commence on the week beginning 14th February. Please note that these are subject to change.
