Job Description

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for supplier development & part development
  • Lead APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities including evaluating PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) elements and providing processing support as appropriate
  • Promote processes and technologies to reduce cost and improve quality and availability of purchased products
  • Support on field issues thro effective analysis and implements the corrective active actions
  • Evaluate Supplier capabilities and help develop sourcing options for the commercial teams
  • Participate in New Sourcing Introduction, New Product Introduction and other CPPD initiatives
  • Develop professional network both internally and externally

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering with 10+ years in purchasing & supply management functions
  • Skills on Hydraulics, Engine, HT, Metallurgy, Weld/Fabrication & Field issues management are preferrable.
  • Preferable to have a trained 6 Sigma Black Belt and CPI lead.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Good project management skill and inter-personal skill
  • Good knowledge of the industry
  • Team leadership skills, cultural sensitivity, global perspective, cost-value awareness, enterprise level thinking, and strong communication skills are some of the key characteristics expected at this level
  • Must be well versed with Caterpillar product line, manufacturing processes, design guides, 1E-specifications, and print interpretations

Additional Information:

  • Travel is 30% - 50% of the time
