Role Summary
The Inflight Base Operational Supervisor assists with the daily operation of the base and supports the Flight Attendant workgroup (e.g., daily interactions with Flight Attendants, listening to and handling Flight Attendant concerns, proactive coaching and documentation of issues, support and guidance, etc.). Manages Worker’s Compensation program for all Flight Attendants with On-the-job Injuries (OJIs), including managing the light duty program.
Key Duties
Drives operational excellence: leadership presence in the operation to support flight attendants with on time departures. Own the Business:  Implement clear and attainable actions to improve Inflight’s contribution to the operation. Provide ongoing mentoring/coaching to flight attendants in the following areas: attendance, appearance standards, manual compliance, delays, on-the-job injuries, customer complaints, employee-to-employee conflict.
Fosters a safe work environment both on and off the aircraft. Be the Inflight base safety focal and ensure monthly safety observations are completed, logged, and actions monitored. Lead monthly AFA Safety Committee meeting and Base Safety meeting. Work closely with the Horizon Cabin Safety Manager regarding any Horizon Inflight Cabin Safety Issues.
Reviews, responds and establishes action on Flight Attendant Incident Reports (FAIRs) that are safety or injury related for the inflight services department.  Assist with inflight safety inspections, investigations and tracking.
Ensures compliance with all items related to Flight Attendant (FA) Worker’s Comp claims from start to finish. Reviews and provides recommendations, and implement policies and procedures related to compliance and reliability issues. Monitors and administrates investigation of OSHA-recordable events.
Participates in Flight Attendant interviews and hiring process.
Be a liaison to other departments when specific flight attendant information is requested. Be Inflight Office Contact for Make-a-Wish events.
Comprehensive data analysis skills.  Trend data and provide recommendations for operational improvements. Prep Operational Data Analysis Group (DAG) slides and facilitate monthly meeting.
Manages base supervisor’s group of Flight Attendants to continue the delivery of quality support when needed.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
3 years of experience inflight operations, flight attendant, or similar.
Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Authorization to work in the U.S. and enter/exit Canada & Mexico (passport or state issued birth certificate).
Ability to meet and maintain minimum requirements for Flight Attendant position. Successful completion of or scheduled for next available Horizon Air LIFT class.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including am/pm hours, weekends and holidays, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
A minimum of 2 years customer service experience, preferably providing top-quality internal and external.
Ability to positively direct the work of others in a positive way, listen and respond effectively, and juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 21.
Preferred
Previous management and/or supervisory experience.
Airline experience, preferably with at least one year of inflight experience.
