Core responsibilities
• Assist with event planning, execution and post-event wrap up• Manage our issues management tool (on Sharepoint)• Support with background briefings and materials related to environmental responsibility, education, responsible digital engagement, IPR and other policy issues as appropriate• Attend selected hearings and policy debates, help map positions and provide minutes• Substitute the GPA team in associations meetings when necessary• Support the EMEA team with an external to internal flow of information• Engage with the government and public affairs strategy team• Lead one longer-term project Play your part in our team succeeding
The GPA team supports the LEGO Group’s mission to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow.  We do this by enabling The LEGO Group to thrive and grow through strategic engagement with governments and related stakeholders; expanding market opportunities, protecting our business from political and legislative risk, and enhancing our reputation. Additionally the team advocates for systemic change across international eco-systems that enable children to learn through play. The GPA EMEA team focuses on issues in Europe, the Middle East and Africa specifcally related business priorities and delivers impact through driving market specific government and public affairs plans in the region to enable operating stability, market access and to identify new opportunities for the EMEA commercial team, LEGO Education and LEGO Foundation in collaboration with other relevant functions.
Do you have what it takes?
• You are currently studying political sciences, European studies, international relations or similar with 1-2 years left before graduation.• Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies• Background or strong interest in education and/or environment policy preferred and a broad focus on public policy, law, government administration, international affairs• Excellent writing and communication skills with strong interpersonal skills• Interest or experience in working within political spheres, associations and/or others.• Event and graphic design experience a plus• English – Advanced (written + spoken) and at least one additional language• A personal drive to get things done to the highest possible quality combined with a great attention to detail and deadlines• A structured and analytical working approach• A self-starter who can also work in a team• Open to work across cultures.
