Job Description

What you’ll be doing

  • Assess permits submitted by utilities to work on the highway, managing any conflicts and effectively coordinating the network
  • To assist in managing appropriate records and inspection programmes using our Symology Streetworks IT systems and Street Manager
  • Liaise with utility companies/their agents and the public
  • Assist in the work of the Network Management Team
  • Working to meet deadlines
  • Able to deal with requests for information and keep concise records of inspections and inventories
  • Maintain appropriate records and inspection programmes
  • To log and scan on to computer system all incoming correspondence.
  • Respond to any enquiries from the public in relation to Streetwork issues both on the telephone and face to face
  • To assist in the responses to Public enquires / Members enquires
  • Any other duties as appropriate

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work
  • Competent IT Skills
  • Self reliant, self motivated, well organised, diplomatic and enthusiastic

 Desirable Experience/Skills

  • Knowledge of Streetworks legislation
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Experience of dealing with high volumes of telephone calls and/or personal queries from the public on behalf of a large organisation
  • Team player
