As a Strategic Sourcing Manager at Mars you will partner closely with the Senior Sourcing Manager and Buyers to drive development & implementation of sub-category buying strategies and co-pilot optimization of resources. You’ll manage both regional and global initiatives by leveraging supplier relationships, while also driving standardization and automation. Ownership of sub-category spend on a global basis will be key, as will heavy x-functional collaboration and close partnership with key stakeholders.
3-5 years of procurement experience.
A passion for developing strong relationships with supplier and cross functional stakeholders both domestically and internationally.
Bachelors degree at a minimum.
You will also manage supplier governance, including supplier performance auditing.
Direct oversight of ($100m) in spend.
Partners closely with Sourcing/Buying Managers to provide input to the Category Strategy and to align on strategic buying initiatives around recruitment services, outplacement services, supplier onboarding.
Recommends and implements supply base strategy. Assesses and develops suppliers in order to meet business needs and opportunities. Identifies sources of supply where appropriate to support execution of agreed strategies and tactical subcategory plans.
Manages benchmarking, RFP activity and drives the qualification and implementation of new suppliers.
Manages supplier governance, including supplier performance and ensure the SPRM program implementation. Acts as key and first point of contact for supplier relationships.
Analyses supplier service levels and KPI to drive the right behaviors with suppliers.
Develops continuous improvement action plan and executes. Monitors changes and adjusts plan as needed to sustain performance results.
Identifies and manages supplier collaboration initiatives (e.g. forecast management, electronic invoicing, operational process streamlining, etc.)
Secures price, capacity & service levels in line with commitments to the business.
Ensures effective risk management of the supply base, through robust contracts and monitoring of financial and other KPIs. Implements corrective actions as appropriate.
Establishes & maintains relationships with key stakeholders and their teams to ensure understanding of their needs and to facilitate the appropriate level of challenge.
Complies with policies, systems & controls.
Communicates business risk & opportunity.
Provides market and financial insights relevant to the subcategory and inputs to the internal financial planning and review processes.
Implement best practice for areas of responsibility. Participates in team knowledge transfer.
