We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Group Recovery Planning Scenario Analysis Senior Manager, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

This role is critical to the success of HSBC’s Strategic Planning & Stress Testing (SP&ST) team which is situated within the Finance function. The team within which this role sits will be responsible for enhancing the quality and delivery of recovery options for recovering planning as well as planning and stress testing activity across the group. Specifically, the role holder will be responsible for:

The new hire will be running the Recovery Planning scenarios, running developed models and generating insights for a senior audience based on outcomes of Recovery Planning capital and stress testing analyses. Additionally, they will be expected to input into external disclosures and support Recovery Planning related bank-wide policy build-out.

The new hire will also work in partnership with senior management across the Group and will be supporting commercial, capital and strategic decisions and regulatory interactions. While the Recovery Planning scenario analysis team will not be engaging in risk management, it will be a critical conduit to linking stress testing analysis to the Risk function              

In this role, you will:

• Execute recovery planning stress testing and scenario analysis to generate recovery EWI indicator projections and strategic insights to support decision making around strategic planning, risk management, business opportunities identification etc.
• Be responsible for preparing insightful commentary to Risk, Business, senior management (e.g.: Board Presentations), regulators, investors and other relevant stakeholders
• Manage and maintain the data requirements definition, collation and manipulation for recovery planning models
• Work collaboratively across colleagues, driving the embedding of recovery planning framework and capabilities
• Ensure compliance with Group Standards Manuals and the appropriate Functional Instruction Manuals.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Demonstrates excellent delivery skills and experience in delivering recovery planning and/or planning and stress tests in large and complex organizations is advantageous
• Experience in Stress Testing, Liquidity management/modelling, Model development/validation and portfolio analysis and/or capital/risk analytics
• Expertise in developing and institutionalizing financial analysis and MI by using tools such as Microsoft Excel
• Exhibit expert ability to drive understanding of analysis throughout business/regional operating management
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in Finance or Risk. Preferred experience in stress testing or risk analytics teams
• Experience in management consulting firm
