Shipping and Receiving Coordinator
CarnaudMetalbox Engineering (CMB Engineering) designs, develops and manufactures high-performance metal forming and finishing machinery for the production of beverage, food and aerosol cans. We pride ourselves on supplying advanced can manufacturing solutions to customers around the world. The CMB Engineering Norwalk office supports customers throughout North & South America.
Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking to hire a full-time warehouse associate in the Norwalk area to add to our spare parts team. The candidate should be a detail oriented individual with a strong work ethic who is willing to learn, grow and help continued progress in warehouse operations.
Responsibilities for this position would include but not be limited to the following:
• Pick, pack and ship goods for customer orders.
• Receive and verify incoming goods from suppliers. Enter goods into ERP system and move items into correct inventory locations.
• Load & unload crates and packages from freight carriers.
• Contact freight carriers for quotes and schedule pick-ups as necessary.
• Generate and review reports to monitor regular business activities.
• Complete paperwork necessary for out-going shipments.
• Order and maintain packing materials.
• Perform stock audits and reconcile any discrepancies.
• Follows all SOP's (standard operating procedures) and communicates with proper personnel as concerns or issues arise
• Keeps equipment and all areas safe, clean, and organized through proper housekeeping
• Performs other related duties as required
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
• Associates Degree or equivalent with 3+ years working in a warehouse environment.
• Computer literate with a knowledge of Microsoft products, including Outlook, Teams, Word & Excel.
• Effective recordkeeping skills and the ability to focus on details.
• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
• Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
• The associate may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Willing to be on call 24 hrs.
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch and lift & move packages.
• Have a valid driver’s license and be willing to operate lifting equipment.
Preferred Requirements:
• International shipping experience for both importing and exporting goods, including generation of commercial invoices and letters or origin.
• Understanding and application of Harmonized Tariff Codes.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Spanish/Portuguese a plus.
