This position will report to the South Park Mall location. This store is located at 4400 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC 28211. This position is part time for store visual security associate.

As an Asset Protection associate, you will drive store sales and profitability by educating store associates and the leadership team on how to properly and securely protect store assets, while delivering the best customer service experience possible. You’ll show teams how to adhere to Belk’s asset protection standards and hold one another accountable to do the right thing. Our Asset Protection teams are observant and curious; making them a crucial party of our store’s success story. More importantly, you will work closely on a team that cares for our customers in an environment where we thrive by winning together.

• Providing Excellent Customer Service:
•    Proactively greeting and engaging customers warmly and with a smile.
•    Offering assistance to the customer proactively and without prompt.
•    Understanding Store Assortment (for assigned department).
• Continuous Learning & Innovation:
•    Successfully complete all Asset Protection training requirements.
•    Maintain personal certifications as required by law.
•    Have knowledge of and maintain strict compliance with the law and company policies concerning apprehensions, searches and seizures, and the preservation of evidence.
• Focusing on Results:
•    Monitor assigned high shortage areas including but not limited to receiving and jewelry.
•    Use two-way communication devices to maintain contact with Asset Protection Associates to ensure store safety.
•    Prepare prompt and complete reports relative to all theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations, audits, and other activities as assigned by Asset Protection.
•    May perform audit functions as assigned.
•    Working professionally and pleasantly with co-workers, customers, and managers to accomplish defined tasks.
•    Professionally represent Belk by meeting the Store Security Associate dress code.
•    Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Minimum Education & Experience:

• No education requirement

• Experience in retail preferred

• Effective written and verbal skills

• Ability to interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

• Ability to use and learn industry technology preferred

• Ability to use computer keyboard, touchscreen monitor, handheld devices, standard telephone and other related business equipment

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

• Hand manipulation to remove sensor tags

• Ability to lift 25-50 pounds

Preferred Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Some college is desirable

• Completion of Asset Protection training program required upon assignment to position
