JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible to build, strengthen, guide and mentor the engineering staff as delegated by the Design Compliance Manager.
- Will provide local focus, direction, and leadership to the station package of work with extensive knowledge of the relevant Field Engineering, Construction, and T&C activities.
- Will support all relevant disciplines applicable to rail and stations engineering design, the principles and practices of related technical areas plus the coordinating work with other technical disciplines, departments on a project which may include constructability requirements and technical reviews.
- Will support whole life-cycle costings and feasibility assessments.
- Supervise the preparation of, reviews and endorses bid analyses and recommendations for procurement of equipment material and services within the engineering scope of responsibility.
- Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
- Participates and supports the Technical Risk Assessments, safety practices and procedures are implemented, and engineering design and corresponding documentation are in compliance with the associated projects Quality Assurance Plan and procedures.
- Supports and is accountable for the delivery of satisfactory safety assurance relating to the technical integrity of station systems as designed, built, installed and tested.
- Oversees all station design and construction technical coordination, interface issues, constructability and value engineering reviews on the project.
- Perform technical reviews of contractors, shop drawings, product data, material samples, etc.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS - Basic
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, along with 25 years of relevant experience.
- Must have experience in leading staff and delivering various elements of rail and transit projects with a minimum of 15 years managing stations design proficiency.
- Extensive experience of undertaking and managing self-perform rail design from feasibility to detailed design and as-builts.
- Proficient in dealing with the complex interfaces with railway system design and the detailed design prepared by multiple design contractors on projects.
- Thorough knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, the design of engineered systems, and engineering and design calculations.
- Supervises the engineering activity on a medium size project or designated portions of a very large pertinent to stations designs. Maintains a good knowledge of current and trends in engineering design.
- Knowledge and experience of integrating the various engineering and systems engineering disciplines (HVAC, MEP, Rail Systems, Traction Power, Medium & Low Power, Rolling Stock, and RAMS).
- Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods.
- Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the particular engineering discipline.
- Thorough knowledge in NFPA 130 standards.
- Proficient in oral and written communications skills. Collaborates well in a team environment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS – Preferred
- Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Experience of underground station design strongly preferred.
