The Cigna Stars and Risk Adjustment Analytics Manager will oversee the team responsible for the development and production of operational reporting and tools used across Cigna’s Medicare business to support Star rating outcomes and Risk Adjustment related activities. The person selected for this role will be a Stars and Risk Adjustment technical subject matter expert who is responsible for helping manage the day to day of the Business Intelligence team within Stars and Risk Adjustment Operations Enablement. They will need a strong technical background in order to lead a team of developers and analysts.

More specifically the individual selected or this role will be responsible for:

  • Leading a technical team to deliver accurate and timely operational data and reporting in support of national and market level operations, vendor engagements, and strategy execution.
  • Coordinating with informatics resources within Stars Operations Enablement and Risk Adjustment teams on delivering end to end data and informatics solutions to drive continued improvements.
  • Conducting ongoing in-depth reviews of existing operational analytics and reporting capabilities to ensure they are technically sound and meet operational needs.
  • Responding to ad hoc Stars Analytics questions and requests from Stars and Cigna Government leadership.
  • Driving analytical and technical capability enhancements using new technologies, tools, analytical approaches, and statistical modeling techniques.
  • Acting as a Medicare Stars and technical SME, providing mentorship, guidance, and intricate problem solving support within Stars Operations Enablement for HEDIS, CAHPS, HOS, Pharmacy, and Administrative measure data and analytics.
  • Serving as a liaison between IT and the Stars business to drive pertinent IT processes and communicate IT updates within the Stars Organization.
  • Interacting regularly with business stakeholders to communicate deliverable status updates and priorities, Stars performance, and analytical insights.
  • Preparing Executive level planned and ad hoc updates and presentations on Star ratings and Risk Adjustment related performance.
  • Providing analytics to support Stars and Risk Adjustment related decision making.

Job requirements include:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in healthcare or a related field.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare, Data Analytics, or related field (or 10+ years relevant work experience).
  • Deep understanding of advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large data sets, including:
    • SQL Server – Stored Procedures and Query Development
    • Microsoft Excel – Experience with Macros is a plus
    • Tableau – Required
    • Teradata – Recommended
    • Python or R or other statistical language – Required
    • Inovalon Quality Spectrum Insight and Quality Spectrum Hybrid Reporter- Recommended
    • Git version control
    • SSRS reports- required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the CMS Star Rating System, including Administrative, HEDIS, CAHPS, HOS, and Pharmacy Measures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Risk Adjustment and Coding related activities.
  • Ability to understand business operations requirements and translate them into technical applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with a proven ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and proven ability to perform in a matrix environment.
  • Strong ability to work autonomously and deal with ambiguity.

This role is Work from home (WFH) which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
