Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems has an opening for a Staff Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team of qualified diverse individuals.
This position will be in Redondo Beach, CA and on a 9/80 1st shift working schedule.
Essential Functions:
Provides detailed analysis procedures, load paths, load distribution, layout sizing, and structural integrity evaluations
Provides structural integrity plan, design criteria, and finite element modeling of structures.
Review of completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines during the development of design solutions
Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives
Maintains and improves part designs, equipment, and systems in support of production deliveries
Develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives
Evaluation of as built products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications
Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including traditional hand analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models and analysis
Basic Qualifications:
M.S. Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering and 12 years’ experience performing structural analysis of aircraft or space structures
B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering and 14 years’ experience performing structural analysis of aircraft or space structures
Experience in Metallic Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures
Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on military aircraft. Specifically, previous experience performing structural analysis on the F35 Program and familiar with the Lockheed Martin tools, such as IMAT, IDAT, SLIM/Vision, and PDM
Experience as a Lead Engineer managing a small group of analysts
Experience with analysis of metallic structure and repair methods

Salary Range: $156,000 USD - $234,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
