BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for â€œdynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Sr. Timer Software Development Engineer at our Indiana Technical Center (ITC) with locations in Kokomo and Noblesville, Indiana.

In this role, and under direct supervision of the ASIC Architecture & Global Timer SW Development Manager, the Sr. Timer Software Development Engineer will be responsible for development of Embedded Timer Software for Power Electronics and Gas/Diesel electronic control modules in BorgWarner.

Job Duties:

  • Design and develop code to interface with the GTM (Generic Timer Module).
  • Software is written in a mix of C code and GTM/MCS (Micro Channel Sequencer) assembly code
  • Write detailed documentation describing the algorithm
  • Write and execute detailed test plans
  • Interface with program teams to develop requirements and to support integration of the algorithm
  • Support development of a strategy using GTM4 to support new requirements, including improvements to the SW architecture

Requirements:

  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree in EE/Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Masters preferred
  • 5+ years embedded, real time software experience using C, in the Automotive market, however, preference will be given to those with 8+ years of experience
  • Highly motivated and detail oriented
  • Effective communicator, both written and oral in English
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well with teams locally and globally in both onsite and remote environment
  • Minimal travel, less than 5%

Preferred:

  • Experience using timer modules: eTPU and/or GTM; candidates with this experience are highly desired
  • Experience managing multiple compilers, build environments and debuggers
  • Experience with automotive electronics, electrical design and industry practices, including functional safety
