Position Summary

Data has become a strategic asset of Adobe fueling all aspects of business decision-making. Real-time personalized customer experiences are driving the future of Adobe's business. This position will be a key role within the IDS Data & Analytics Platform team to provide solutions interacting with data and powering insights needed to realize business objectives.

As a Senior Software Engineer in our Shared Platform Services team, you will build engaging Data Platform experiences. An ideal candidate can lead design discussions and implement services independently. You will bring your experience in building cloud services and managing data-intensive applications. Our team builds platform services (Java, Python) and Web Experiences (React.js) that are consistent across our family of Data Platform as a Service products. The winning candidate for this high-impact role must demonstrate deep knowledge of software building in the space of Data platforms, and their experience solving complex problems associated with running production services at a massive scale in multi-tenant environments.

Your core responsibilities will be

• Design and Implement Cloud solutions within existing organizational support structures and identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Build scalable solutions in public and private Cloud services for Data Platforms to run on containerized and distributed systems
• Independently contribute across planning, modeling, design, implementation, support, and performance optimization of Adobe data platforms and microservices
• Develop tools to automate the deployment, administration, and monitoring of data services
• Scale systems through mechanisms, including automation, and evolve systems by innovative solutions to improve reliability and velocity.
• Maintain and optimize the services in production by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, performance, and overall system health.
• Participate in on-call rotation for data and analytics platforms and lead incident response and postmortem analysis and review
• Work in a fast-paced, dynamic, agile environment, planning features and prioritizing changes based on team goals, product usage, and user feedback.

Required Skills

• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python
• Solid understanding of web services, API, REST, and RPC
• Experience with SOA applications and cloud-based services, preferably Azure.
• Proficient in querying and manipulating large data sets. Comfortable with SQL, NoSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Data Platforms such as Hadoop (MR, Yarn, Spark), EMR, and Databricks Spark, Kafka.
• Experience with business analytics tools like Tableau, Power BI, etc is a plus.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform
• Experience in automation and Observability technologies like NewRelic, Grafana, Prometheus
• Familiarity with container technologies like Docker and container orchestration systems like Kubernetes (e.g., AKS, ECS)
• Familiarity with client-side technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript; experience with Javascript frameworks like Angular, React, or Backbone beneficial.
• Effective communication with the ability to execute defined milestones

Qualifications and Experience

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience
• 5-8 years of experience in Platform administration/Platform engineering
