Sr. Project Manager (Fermentation)- Various Locations
This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

  • This is an salaried exempt level position reporting directly to the Capex Regional Manager with oversite for Biosystems projects in North America serving both nutritional and industrial business areas.

Job Purpose and Impact:

  • The Senior Project Manager will partner with the business areas and (key) cross functional ADM stakeholders to manage expectations for project scope, schedule and budget as well as to receive buy in for project implementations while leading a team of professionals to execute on various project initiatives. In this role, you will ensure high-quality work for projects greater than 25 million dollars with high financial impact and significance in targeted growth areas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope and plan the delivery of projects according to a roles & responsibility matrix. Execute the project, including costing and implementation according to Front End Loading(FEL) guidelines.
  • Assuring monthly project reporting to the stakeholders through FEL, execution, commissioning, and capitalization and closure.
  • Scope change and risk management escalation processes.
  • Aligning with local legislation and ADM requirements for permitting, safety legislation, quality assurance, HACCP, GMP, Hazop as well as TPS policy.
  • Supporting and driving contractor safety through the use of preventative action plans and safety metrics.
  • Assure that the safety and reliability of existing equipment is maintained during project implementation
  • Coordinate the team development of all necessary documentation for commissioning, training, maintenance and maintain all records required by legislation and policies.
  • Coordinate and provide direction to contractual partners for project execution including the use of a well maintained work breakdown structure.
  • Setting up project structure and coordination with project steering committee according project governance guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in a technical field, preferably in combination with project management engineering
  • Knowledge of cost engineering and key performance indicators
  • Knowledge of industrial process project planning and scheduling with multi-craft trades, “S” Curves
  • Knowledge of industrial process project commissioning means and methods
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Project, Primavera or other resource loaded scheduling tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise management systems
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal English proficiency communication skills, written and verbal.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Certified Project Manager or willingness to acquire certification
  • Minimum of 10 years managing several industrial projects of moderate to extreme complexity.
  • Ability to work with EPC, EPCM companies executing under a variety of contractual methodologies
  • Execution of multi-year projects experience with in the Biosystems industry with an emphasis in different fermentation methodologies.
  • Experience with execution on revamp, brown and green field projects
  • Knowledge of SharePoint beneficial
