We are looking for a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our team! This role drives ideation, evaluation, prioritization & implementation of projects related to major equipment modification or installation of new equipment and facilities. This position will lead the projects, from concept to completion and delivery to internal customers. We are looking for an upbeat & hardworking person who loves solving problems and enjoys work in teams.
What you will do
The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for managing, driving and leading the planning, implementation and closing of capital projects in the factory, through the cross functional team cooperation and following CP capital project requirements. The Sr Project Engineer is also responsible to develop engineering solutions and project proposals to meet plant needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Develops project roadmap for 5 years capital project and review and update plan twice a year.
- Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and aligns with management.
- Determines project roles and responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors. (Manage Contractors as needed)
- Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; and preparing cost estimates.
- Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
- Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Develops, controls and updates project plans to include reviewing the designs, specifications, plans and schedules then using the data to recommend actions.
- Estimates, monitors and controls project costs to ensure the project is completed within approved budget. This includes obtaining bids and quotes from 3rd party vendors and suppliers, comparing the bids and creating purchase orders for awarded contracts. Also responsible for administering contractor contracts.
- Follows CEB process to ensure Capital Expenditure Budget reviews are conducted on time as required.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Leads efforts to implement analytical testing on the production lines.
- Develops and implement a plan for eCommerce end of the line differentiation.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Evaluates and monitor project risks and develop risk response plans to ensure project requirement is made efficiently and effectively.
- Document and update the project information per code and Colgate standard.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• At least 5 years of engineering with an emphasis in project management/engineering from project concept through implementation
- Knowledge of the CEB Capital Procurement
- Working knowledge of EOHS and Quality standards
