Summary

ABM Technical Solutions is looking for a Senior Operations Manager to lead our operations team for ABM Technical Solutions in the Greater Los Angeles District.  The successful candidate will be responsible to manage, and lead operational excellence through   thoughtful deliberate collaboration throughout all operations’ functions (HR, Safety, Finance and Operations) across the District. The selected candidate, reporting directly to the new Senior General Manager, will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic operations goals, continuous process improvement, and operational staffing for the district seeking out ways to grow and improve delivery of the business focused on accelerated growth in our Bundled Energy Solutions and growth of our Mechanical and Electrical core businesses.   

 

Essential Duties

  • Operations responsibility (including delivery and budgets) along with financial oversight to maximize year over year growth.
  • Establish and execute strategic and tactical plans to improve delivery of core project and service business.
  • Achieve margin growth and evaluate organization for potential efficiencies in the district.
  • Coaching, growing and all forms of people management to develop a high calibre organization in the district.
  • Coordination with verticals and support functions, commanding service delivery within the district
  • Increase existing customer base and maintenance coverage, determination of acceptable risk.
  • Oversight on Risk and Safety within the district
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and other outside agents.
  • Direct purchasing decisions and activities as necessary.
  • Promote professionalism and pride in order to develop and shape the culture.
  • Monitor A/P and A/R to assure optimum cash flow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred, High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • MBA and/or other advanced and education is desirable.
  •  
  • Minimum five (5) years’ service-industry experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing people, ideally managing managers of people.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of critical operations’ P&L focus with strategic financial planning and analysis skills to drive growth is required.
  • Experience managing operations’ multi-million-dollar budgets/P&L strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of HVAC designs, HVAC maintenance & project sales, applications, electrical (Lighting and EV) knowledge and energy saving solutions a big plus.
  • Strong leadership and hands-on team building qualities.
  • Proven experience in evaluating, training, and hiring operational staff
  • Experience developing Annual Operational Budgets
