The GPS (Global Product Development and Supply) Analytics team is an organization within Business Insights and Analytics focused on partnering with the BMS GPS organization to answer key business questions that will drive business decisions using advanced analytics and data.  These questions span the broad range of areas from Global Supply Chain, through Manufacturing Operations and Quality.

Position Summary:

Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Analytics will play a leading role in establishing and providing analytics and data science capabilities for the Global Supply Chain organization across both commercial and clinical supply chain functions.  S/he will enable the Global Supply Chain organization to make informed business decisions through use of all phases of the analytical cycle (Descriptive, Predictive, and Prescriptive). 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads development of optimization/simulation models and other advanced analytics solutions to enhance data-driven decision-making capabilities in the supply chain organization.
  • Develops dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate the status of the supply chain organization.
  • Identifies new opportunities to further leverage analytics, data and analytical tools.
  • Proactively manages planned and ad hoc analytics requests, ensuring consistent quality and timeliness in delivery to business stakeholders.
  • Identifies and contextualizes critical business issues, working to embed an objective and unbiased point of view into the business conversation.
  • Supports culture of analytics and fact-based decision making through the utilization of standard methodologies and approaches.
  • Partners with business leaders and stakeholders in various functional groups to identify, guide and advise on advanced analytics application opportunities.
  • Effectively partners and collaborates with other BIA team members (including but not limited to R&D, Demand Planning, Commercial Analytics, etc.) to identify and evaluate current and future analytics needs for GPS and to deliver a consistent BIA engagement model with stakeholders.
  • Effectively partners and collaborates with a broad set of cross functional counterparts (including IT, Finance) to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Understands, demonstrates, and drives adherence to all BMS operating policies.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of related experience at a global pharmaceutical, consumer product or related company.  
  • BA/BS required; MSci, MEng, MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
  • Preferred: Leadership skills; process knowledge/mindset; cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Preferred: Experience in supply chain or related field
  • Preferred: Experience in working in a fast-paced, global pharmaceutical/Biotechnology or Consumer company organized in a matrix structure.
  • Knowledge of ERP, ideally SAP and SAP BW reporting, and related supply chain planning and data analysis tools.
  • Proficiency with programming in R or Python.
  • Experience with data visualization and presentation (Tableau or Spotfire).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities
  • Customer oriented.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the global practices where business is conducted.
