DESCRIPTION

Job summary
Come build the future with us! What unites all Amazonians (across teams and geographies) is that we are all striving to delight our customers and make their lives easier—whoever that customer may be. In pursuit of delighting customers, Amazonians have developed many products and services that have transformed the way our customers live their lives and run their businesses. Together, we are building the future, one innovative product, service, and idea at a time.

Amazon Ads is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for brand advertisers, agencies, authors, and entrepreneurs. Our ad solutions—including sponsored, display, video, and custom ads—leverage Amazon’s innovations and insights to find, attract, and engage intended audiences throughout their daily journeys. With a range of flexible pricing and buying models, including self-service, managed service, and programmatic ad buying, these solutions help businesses build brand awareness, increase product sales, and more.

We are seeking an all-around marketing athlete and experienced manager to build a new, fast growing team, that will provide coverage when Amazon Ads marketers take extended leaves. This new leadership role will create a program spanning multiple marketing teams and functions, making an impact across the Ads org, while also empowering employees to take leaves of absence without losing business momentum. This leader will set their charter and vision, hire and develop their team, and support key objectives to ensure business continuity.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded general marketer, with experience across multiple disciplines including brand, channel, performance, content, executive engagement, training, and/or product marketing, who can step into senior roles themselves and provide both strategic and tactical guidance. Key to this role is attracting, managing, and retaining excellent marketing talent that is excited to step into new spaces and solve hard problems across the business. The leader will be charged with creating a system and process that balances business needs with resources in spaces full of ambiguity.

This is a highly visible role and program that will work across all marketing teams globally. This role will gain insight into marketing strategy across diverse programs and will be a connective fiber between teams and talent. This role will have direct access to leaders across brand, demand generation, sales, and product teams, and can grow across multiple disciplines in a uniquely multi-functional space.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop a new program for leave of absence coverage across Amazon Ads marketing, inclusive of vision, tenets, and scope
• Hire and retain top talent across multiple marketing areas and specialties
• Manage process and operations, tracking team capacity, priorities, and utilization
• Make difficult judgement calls regarding business needs and resource allotment
• Communicate with senior leaders across the organization on process and program status
• Keep up to date on a wide variety of business units, to be able to support at any given time
• Work in high-visibility roles to solve marketing and business needs
• Day-to-day management of marketing talent; able to provide actionable feedback on work and projects that help continuously raise the bar across disciplines
• Capacity planning for marketing talent as it pertains to business priority and resource availability
