The Sr. HR Business Associate will work with the business partners on strategic business and human resource priorities including organization design and capabilities, learning and development, employee management, change management and organization effectiveness.
This position will serve as a business partner to managers, supervisors, and employees across the facility by performing complex, professional HR activities across performance management, organizational development, training, employee and labor relations, talent management, recruitment/selection, and other workplace initiatives, to drive operational excellence within the organization. The incumbent will provide leadership and counsel to business partners in issue resolution, policy and process development, policy adherence, and process renewal to support compliance with Colgate policies, as well as federal and state employment legislation. The right candidate will be able to meet the day-to-day requirements of the Human Resources department while maintaining a strategic and operational view that links the role of HR to business needs.
The position will also provide project leadership for HR initiatives and activities that support the NA Supply Chain network, working with plant HR Managers and their teams to define project scope and objectives, implementation and change management communication plan.
Principal duties and accountabilities
Business Partnering:
- Provides direction, leadership and support on all HR related processes/activities to all employees.
- Operates within a team environment and seeks to increase team member's interpersonal, leadership and collaborative skills and knowledge to a level consistent with an outstanding manufacturer.
- Participate with functional leaders and others as vital to develop and implement strategic organization plans, strategic labor relations plans, and near and long term resource / staffing plans
- Work jointly with the North America Supply Chain HR Director to evaluate the people impact of organizational plans and/or programs for future organizational effectiveness.
- Coach team members cross-functionally in the areas of communication skills, career paths, promoting a positive work environment (“Managing with Respectâ€) through formal and informal feedback sessions.
- Partner with the various COHRE and CBS teams on HR processes (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning).
- Support implementation Performance Management, MindSpark 2.0, Success Factors and Time & Attendance systems.
Performance Management:
- Define future operational managing capabilities and curate learning content and success indicators
- Guide and support managers in developing corrective actions and ensure proper documentation and follow up for low performing employees
- Support PM&D actions for Quality functional employees and managers located at manufacturing plant
Compensation:
- Co-own the annual salary planning and merit forecasting process for assigned populations; run reports to analyze execution; follow up with managers as needed.
- Partner with CBS team on Compensation Offers for new external hires, organization transfers and promotions, off-cycle growth promotions, and quarterly bonus incentive plan.
Talent Management:
- Provides Coaching in the areas of communication, career paths, promoting a positive and engaging work environment through formal and informal feedback sessions
- Co-own all talent management (Career Development, Talent Planning, Performance Management) programs together with Plant HR manager and functional leaders
- Assists managers in the performance enhancement process
- Ensure on-boarding and assimilation processes for new employees confirms alignment with organization’s vision and culture and achieves their ability to quickly contribute to the organization’s goals
- Support effective management of the People Capabilities Standard in compliance with the Colgate Factory Performance & Reliability (FP&R) Program.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as an employee advocate by establishing workplace relationships and models the company’s Ethical Leadership standards, behaviors and compliance.
- Coach and support leaders’ to build and maintain a positive labor relations work environment
- Establish proactive and responsive channels of communication to understand the pulse of the organization
- Advise and coach managers and supervisor on the resolution of employee inquiries and issues, collaborating with Legal as needed
- Ensure effective, consistent administration of Human Resources policies and guidelines
- Coordinate employee transfers, conduct exit interviews, and provide recommendations for corrective action policy revision and/or improving employee and labor relations.
- Represent the company in outside community activities, and encourage employee engagement and participation
- Partner with Diversity and Inclusion COHRE to implement local initiatives
Administration:
- Ensure effective, consistent administration of Human Resources policies and guidelines.
- Ensure HR data is accurate and updated in the SAP-HR system. Analyze and/or prepare a variety of reports concerning the Human Resource function and key performance indicators vital to communicate, educate or advise.
- Co-develop the best in class local talent sourcing strategy, bring to bear best practices, technical schools, universities and diversity institutions.
- Utilize Success Factors system to handle position requisitions, job postings, candidate sourcing, and applicant data.
Project Management:
- Define scope of assigned projects, and confirm with the North America Supply Chain HR Director.
- Define project sponsors, scope and establish project teams.
- Support measurable goal attainment and business value impact.
Education/ Experience Requirements
Basic qualifications include:
- BS or BA degree required (HR, Labor Relations, Business, Management or related field).
- 5 years of relevant Human Resource Generalist experience
- Experience in one or more HR specialty area (Compensation, Benefits, People Relations, People Development, Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion, Analytics, Organization Development/Design, Learning)
- Quantitative reasoning skills to advise data driven decisions
- Strong project management, presentation, and facilitation skills required
- Proficiency with Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Preferred qualifications include:
- Master’s Degree preferred (HR, Labor Relations, Business, Management or related field)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with SAP-HR and Success Factors systems
- Professional Certification: HRCI/PHR/SPHR/GPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP
